Original work and English translation
Original work: eternity4719's HowToLiveBetter, Chinese edition dated 2026-10-15.
English text adapted from parveen0029's The Evidence-Based Life, revision ac418e2. We corrected 15 entries against the current Chinese edition, retained the Chinese author's grades and flags, and restored the complete original bibliography for every entry. This is an adapted translation, not a claim of independent expert review.
Both content editions are available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. This site adds reading layouts, question matching, translated interface copy, illustrations and English comic transcripts.
What the grades mean
- A · 495 guides
- The author's category for quantitative evidence such as meta-analyses, large cohorts or randomized trials. It is not an independent review by this site.
- B · 218 guides
- The author's category for research or official material with harder-to-quantify benefits, small samples or a single study.
- C · 52 guides
- Author experience or general consensus without direct research establishing the stated benefit.
Disputed, pending-verification and media-only flags remain visible. Not every source is a journal paper or an official document; the original edition identifies exceptions. Bibliographic titles and source links remain in their original language so they can be checked without a translated title hiding the reference.
Language does not change jurisdiction
Mainland Chinese law, healthcare insurance, social insurance and public-benefit rules remain mainland Chinese in this English edition. CNY amounts are not converted into another currency. Elsewhere, check your own jurisdiction. Source dates are not promises that a rule or price is current everywhere.
Question matching and privacy
The question tool retrieves existing guides using curated situations and word matching. It does not send your question to an external model or create new medical, legal or financial conclusions. Questions are submitted by POST and are not placed in URLs, logs, browser storage or the database. Leave out identifying details. Clear or edit the text at any time.
Saved guides and recent reading stay in your browser, separately for each language. Language preference is saved in a cookie; manual selection takes precedence over browser language on unprefixed guide links.
About the comics
The illustrations are original editorial cartoons with Chinese lettering. Each English page includes an English caption and dialogue transcript. They are reading aids, not scientific evidence or emergency procedure diagrams.
